Full Job Description
Executive Director - Arbors at Dracut, Assisted Living Community
Location: Dracut, MA | Full-Time

We are seeking a highly accountable, detail-driven Executive Director who sees what others miss, handles volume with urgency, and leads with both heart and standards.

Who Thrives Here

This role is for a leader who:
  • Is naturally dutiful - you take responsibility personally and don't let things fall through the cracks.
  • Has exceptional attention to detail - compliance, budgets, staffing plans, follow-through... nothing slips by you.
  • Can manage multiple priorities coming at you daily with calm urgency.
  • Is proactive, not reactive - you anticipate issues before they surface.
  • Leads with strong soft skills - approachable, present, genuinely interested in your team and residents.
  • Makes sure people know you care - but also holds them accountable to high goals and measurable results.
  • Comes in ready to learn our way first, earn trust, and then thoughtfully offer improvements that strengthen the operation.

You don't need handholding. You don't wait to be told. You own it.

What You'll Own
Leadership & Collective Ownership
  • Oversee all departments and ensure consistent execution of policies and service standards.
  • Develop department heads who take ownership of outcomes.
  • Foster a culture where expectations are clear and performance is measured.
  • Maintain visible, approachable leadership throughout the community.
Family-Centered Care & Engagement
  • Ensure residents and families experience responsive, compassionate support.
  • Lead organized staff and resident meetings with clear agendas and documented follow-up.
  • Build trust through consistent communication and reliability.
Operational & Financial Excellence
  • Implement and manage annual budgets with disciplined oversight.
  • Monitor staffing plans and ensure appropriate coverage at all times.
  • Analyze operational data and deliver timely, accurate recommendations.
  • Track performance metrics - and act quickly when adjustments are needed.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance at all times.
  • Enforce OSHA and safety standards without exception.
  • Maintain structured systems to monitor performance across all service areas.
Occupancy & Growth
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts to maintain and grow occupancy.
  • Build strong community relationships rooted in trust and professionalism.

What We Expect
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in human services management, housing management, nursing home management, or related field.

  • Demonstrated administrative and supervisory leadership experience.
  • Strong financial acumen and operational discipline.

The Standard

This is not a "maintain the status quo" role.

  • Notices the small things.
  • Moves with urgency.

  • Brings ideas - respectfully and strategically - to make us stronger.
