JOB DESCRIPTION

Would you like to lead and scale a high-impact affiliate marketing channel as the Executive Director, Affiliate Marketing Strategy in Card Acquisition Marketing—owning strategy and performance, driving partner growth through experimentation and measurement, delivering operational excellence, and developing and empowering a team with clear goals that raise the bar on planning, optimization, and reporting

As the Executive Director, Affiliate Marketing Strategy in Card Acquisition Marketing, you will own the affiliate channel strategy and performance, leading partner growth, experimentation, measurement, and operational excellence. You’ll collaborate closely across product, analytics, finance, risk, legal, compliance, technology, and creative to improve outcomes while managing risk. You’ll also develop and empower a team, setting clear goals and raising the bar on planning, optimization, and reporting.

Job responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day and long-term strategy, development, and planning for the affiliate channel
  • Drive partner planning, contracting, and campaign testing to expand and innovate the program
  • Track, analyze, and review channel performance to deliver clear insights and recommendations
  • Design, launch, and optimize tests and pilots to improve efficiency, conversion, and channel contribution
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new capabilities (including AI-driven optimization), publishers, and audience/data tactics
  • Partner cross-functionally to shape portfolio profitability analyses, investment decisions, and the growth roadmap
  • Present strategies, performance, insights, and recommendations to senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Define requirements for new capabilities and influence the technology roadmap to enhance channel performance
  • Improve operational excellence through stronger processes, documentation, and ways of working across planning, execution, and reporting
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals, fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in affiliate, performance, or partner-driven marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to lead channel strategy and deliver measurable growth against targets
  • Strong analytical skills, including performance measurement and test-and-learn optimization
  • Proven partner management and negotiation experience (e.g., contracting, commercial terms, joint planning)
  • Experience leading people, including developing goals, coaching, and performance management
  • Strong communication skills, including executive-ready storytelling and influencing across stakeholders
  • Understanding of regulated marketing environments and the ability to manage risk in channel execution
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience building or scaling affiliate programs with multiple publishers/partners
  • Familiarity with AI-driven marketing optimization and advanced targeting approaches
  • Experience partnering closely with legal, compliance, and risk teams in go-to-market work
  • Track record of improving marketing operations through new processes, tools, and documentation
