About the Position

This unique role combines preconstruction leadership with project management responsibilities, making it ideal for a professional who enjoys both winning work and helping ensure successful project execution.

The selected candidate will work closely with owners, developers, subcontractors, and company leadership to develop competitive estimates, build lasting client relationships, and provide operational support throughout the construction process.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for heavy civil site development projects
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assist in preparing project budgets, schedules, and construction plans
  • Build relationships with developers, owners, engineering firms, and industry partners
  • Identify new business opportunities and support ongoing client development efforts
  • Monitor project costs and assist with maintaining profitability throughout construction
  • Coordinate with field operations to support successful project delivery
  • Promote and uphold company safety standards on every project
  • Provide regular progress updates to executive leadership

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred
  • Five or more years of experience in estimating, project management, or a combination of both within heavy civil construction
  • Proven experience delivering private site development projects for commercial, industrial, or residential developments
  • Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, underground utilities, aggregate production, and asphalt paving operations
  • Experience managing projects ranging from approximately $20 million to $250 million
  • Familiarity with Kentucky construction markets, particularly along the I-65 corridor, is advantageous
  • Experience using AGTEK, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob is considered a plus
