The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to assess costs and prepare estimates for construction projects, manufacturing processes, or service contracts. The Estimator will analyze project specifications, labor, materials, and time requirements to provide accurate and competitive pricing.
This is a full-time position with hours dictated by business needs. What will you do?
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, setting priorities.
  • Quantity takeoffs and Production estimates
  • Construction Drawing evaluation and interpretation
  • Prepares construction budget by studying construction plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.
  • Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
  • Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Coordinates with Project Management to develop Proposals
  • Coordinates with Construction Management to develop Production Rates, Schedule milestones, and Job Sequence

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, 8+ years preferred
  • Must have concrete estimating experience • Quality focused
  • Tilt up, commercial flatwork experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Strong budget and documentation skills
  • Vendor relationship management experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook plus Adobe
  • Working knowledge of Construction Scheduling
  • Ability to develop and manages teams
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues, strong decision-making skills
  • Possess a current driver's license
  • Travel < 25%; potential travel to meetings and on site as needed
  • Must pass physical exam
  • Must be a US Citizen
