The Estimator II is responsible for receiving and processing requests for estimating services received from the PWO Manager. Provides construction management oversight on PWOs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepares and estimates man-hour and material requirements for the performance of Project Work Orders (PWOs). This includes work involving painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, HVAC, and roads and grounds work activities. Work may require participation of single or multiple crafts and/or subcontractors.
- Prepares detailed job packages that state the nature, scope, sequence, and priority of the work to be performed. Estimate labor man-hour, material, equipment and subcontract requirements of individual tasks based on work standards. Estimates will be performed using RS Means pricing databases.
- Visit the job site and clarify work details, as well as verify the scope of work with the POC listed on the 4283 Work Request. Also responsible for coordinating and discussing job details with the shop supervisor/lead to establish job requirements.
- Supports negotiation of PWOs with the client.
- Upon receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP), will prepare PWO Bill of Material (BOM) and process material request forms.
- Perform construction management oversight on projects.
- Ensures in-house personnel and subcontractors perform all tasks in accordance with established safety policies and procedures to include activity hazard analysis (AHA) development.
- Promotes quality and customer service.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years' experience estimating for maintenance activities or the equivalent experience in one or more structural trades. Relevant administrative experience, education or training may be substituted on a year for year basis.
- Two years' experience preparing detailed job orders including recommended methods and establishing time and material values for construction projects.
- Experience developing and estimating facilities and preventative maintenance program requirements is highly desirable.
- Experience in O&M to include support of a work force that is responsible for O&M and repair of all facility systems, subsystems, and selected equipment typically found in a Base Operating Services contract.
- Will also have knowledge and general proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience working with R.S. Means or comparable estimating system highly desirable.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Strong verbal, written, and customer service skills required to deal with multiple customers/end users, subcontractors, trades and direct client (DPW).
- Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check. Must possess a valid state driver's license and insurable driving record.
Licenses and Certifications:- Will have the 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health Training Certification

Pay Range: $95,000 - $104,000 per year
