Position Title: EstimatorAn established commercial construction and interior contracting company is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead estimating efforts for large-scale drywall and flooring projects throughout the Northeast and Tri-State area. This role will prepare detailed estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, review plans and specifications, develop competitive pricing, and collaborate closely with ownership and the project team on multifamily projects typically ranging from $3M-$6M.
The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of construction estimating experience, deep expertise in drywall estimating, and the ability to accurately scope complex, high-value projects from start to finish.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $135,000 / annually, DOE
Responsibilities - Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for large-scale commercial drywall and flooring projects
- Review construction plans, drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop comprehensive scopes of work
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, material calculations, labor estimates, and project pricing
- Estimate multifamily construction projects typically valued between $3M-$6M, including apartment communities with 300-400 units
- Collaborate with ownership, the Controller, and project teams to ensure estimates are competitive, complete, and delivered on time
- Identify potential scope gaps, pricing considerations, and project risks during the estimating process
- Conduct occasional site visits throughout the Northeast and Tri-State region as needed
Requirements - 7+ years of construction estimating experience, with 10-15 years strongly preferred
- Extensive experience estimating drywall projects is required
- Proven ability to estimate large, complex commercial or multifamily construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction plans, specifications, quantity takeoffs, labor requirements, and material pricing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred, though equivalent hands-on estimating experience will be considered
- Flooring estimating experience, particularly with poured flooring or floor underlayments, is a plus
