Tri Pointe Assurance Escrow, the California title and escrow affiliate of Tri Pointe Homes, is looking for an experienced individual to join our talented group in California as an Escrow Officer.Position Highlights: The Escrow Officer is responsible for establishing and overseeing efficient closing/settlement services, development of internal and external customer relationships. Processing escrow documents following established policies and procedures. Acts as a neutral third party between buyers and sellers during a real estate sale, managing funds, and processing real estate transactions.
Position Responsibilities:- Complete real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements; clearing titles; assembling, preparing, and reviewing closing documents.
- Determine escrow requirements by studying and clarifying buyers, sellers, and lender instructions.
- Obtain clear title by ordering title reports; resolving title defects; satisfying existing liens and encumbrances against property or principals.
- Establish escrow account by depositing funds; maintaining records.
- Prepare transaction documents by completing forms and statements; collecting and reviewing existing documents.
- Complete calculations by prorating taxes and interest.
- Complete closing transaction documents by assembling documents; reviewing papers with parties; explaining provisions and procedures; answering questions; checking documents for completeness and accuracy; obtaining signatures.
- Complete closing by recording and filing documents; preparing and distributing final closing statements and titles.
- Prepare Closing Disclosure or HUD by utilizing lender instructions; Closes escrow account by balancing all funds.
- Comply with regulatory requirements by adhering, and enforcing adherence, to requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements Qualifications: - A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience performing escrow and title duties
- Notary required
- Escrow license (where required by the state)
Skills: - Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and title software applications
- Specialize in RESPA with an understanding of the company's underwriting guidelines
- Understanding of title and settlement rules and regulations
- Effective communication, presentation, and organization skills
- Knowledge of real estate law and title escrow curative procedures
Physical Requirements: - Sedentary for extended periods, 4 or more hours per day
- Frequent repetitive hand use (typing/computer work)
- Auditory ability to communicate in person, on calls, or in meetings
- Visual acuity for reading documents and computer work
- Occasional standing and walking
- Some climbing, bending, or kneeling
- Minimal lifting and carrying (under 10 lbs)
- Hours in excess of 40 during peak times
Compensation and Benefits:- Base Salary: The expected Base Salary range for this position is between $41.54-$42.93 per hour, equivalent to $86,400.00-$89,300.00 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday.
- Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual performance-based cash bonus. Bonuses are earned, calculated and paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company's applicable incentive plan document.
