Full Job Description
ERP Project Data Management Manager owns the end-to-end data strategy, data migration, quality, and governance workstream during an enterprise resource planning implementation or upgrade. They bridge the gap between technical data teams and business stakeholders to ensure clean, accurate data load and system cutover.
Key Responsibilities
• Data Strategy & Planning: Design and manage the comprehensive data migration plan, scope, timeline, and strategy (including extract, transform, load/ETL processes).
• Data Governance & Quality: Establish master data management (MDM) standards, data dictionaries, cleansing rules, and validation protocols to ensure high data integrity.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with business process owners and system integrators to map legacy data fields to the new ERP architecture.
• Execution & Testing: Oversee mock data migration cycles, data validation testing, defect remediation, and final cutover activities. [
• Risk & Resource Management: Track data workstream risks, issues (RAID log), budget allocation, and vendor deliverables.
• Becomes the owner and DBA of the system post go live.
Qualifications and Skills
• Experience: 5-7+ years managing enterprise data projects or data migration tracks for large-scale ERP implementations (e.g., SAP, Oracle Fusion, or Dynamics 365).
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of ETL tools, data profiling, SQL databases, and data mapping methodologies.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage third-party system integration vendors.
• Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills to translate complex data constraints into business solutions.
• Education & Certification: Preferred Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business; PMP or data governance certifications are a plus.
