Job DescriptionJOB DUTIES:- Provides injury prevention, work site safety and ergonomic services within the organization and to outside contracts on referral from the departments of Occupational Health and Employee Health.
- Primary purpose is to increase worker safety, productivity and comfort by decreasing injury risks and environmental hazards. Secondarily assists in employee health and wellness, and facilitates recovery and rejuvenation.
- Performs ergonomic assessments, work site evaluations and job task analysis.
- Responds to email requests and performs brief ergo encounters.
- Develops educational materials for NorthBay Health and wellness.
- Assists in training programs used by the hospital for safety in the workplace including lift training, new employee orientation and return to work ergo assessment.
- Organizes metrics for management to assess ergonomic business performance.
- Facilitates a self-reliant ergonomics program that optimizes internal systems to reduce direct labor needs, with outcome benefits tied to reduced loss work days; and enhanced worker productivity, recovery and rejuvenation; and facilitated return to work efforts.
QualificationsREQUIRED:- Master's Degree or Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy.
- CA Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy license.
- Teaching skills. biomechanical analysis, job task analysis, anthropometry, health care and industrial evaluations and design, hand tool and equipment modifications.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply current safety, design and ergonomics regulatory requirements to work environments (i.e., OSHA/Cal-OSHA, Worker's Compensation and ADA - all titles). Ability to drive a motor vehicle (car/van).
- Experience with exercises to prevent injuries, and movement training in the workplace.
PREFERRED:- Two year's full-time work in Ergonomics preferred.
- Experience teaching injury prevention in work settings preferred.

Compensation StructureNorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
