About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Equity Portfolio Manager (Wealth Investment Portfolio Manager) to construct and manage diversified investment portfolios of customized equity portfolios for High-net-worth and Ultra-high-net-worth clients across Wealth and Investment Management lines of business. This role is responsible for implementing portfolio strategies, managing asset allocations, and ensuring portfolios remain aligned with client objectives, risk tolerance, and investment guidelines.

The Equity Portfolio Manager partners with investment strategists, relationship managers, and other internal groups to deliver portfolio solutions that support long-term client outcomes. This role requires sound investment judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate market conditions and portfolio positioning while balancing risk and return objectives.

The successful candidate will manage a broad range of investment vehicles, while ensuring centralized portfolios remain consistent with strategic and tactical asset allocation guidance.

In this role, you will:

  • Construct and manage optimized tax-aware portfolio solutions for client accounts across Wealth and Investment Management lines of business.

  • Exercise independent judgment on portfolio management deliverables and day-to-day investment decisions.

  • Manage a large volume of accounts tailored to individual client’s needs.

  • Monitor portfolio positioning, performance, and risk exposures to support client investment objectives.

  • Partner with internal groups to construct and manage optimal portfolio solutions for client accounts.

  • Implement portfolio changes and rebalancing activities based on market conditions, investment guidance, and client requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with investment guidelines, regulatory requirements, and fiduciary responsibilities.

  • Deliver disciplined execution tailored to each client’s needs for tax optimized transitions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Wealth Investment Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • US only: Successfully completed Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 65 examination, or a FINRA-recognized equivalent, sufficient to qualify for applicable registration requirements.

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or active progress toward completion of the CFA Program.

  • Experience constructing and managing portfolios that include individual securities, mutual funds, and exchange-traded funds.

  • Knowledge of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment risk management principles.

  • Understanding of equity, fixed income, and multi-asset investment strategies.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market trends and portfolio performance.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make investment decisions within established guidelines.

  • Experience collaborating with advisors, investment strategists, relationship managers, and other wealth management professionals.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing automated systems for asset allocation, reconciliation, and trading, including platforms such as Moxy, Fiserv, SEI, Aladdin Wealth, and InvestCloud.

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.

Job Expectations:

  • US only:  Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate FINRA license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. FINRA Series 65 or equivalent must be completed within a 90-day time period following commencement of employment if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required.

  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing. Affected employees will be expected to provide required information and comply with applicable policy requirements.
