Equipment & Tool Engineer (Associate, Experienced, and Senior)

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Associate, Experienced, or Senior Equipment and Tool Engineer to join our Production Engineering team in Renton, WA.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor, interacting with mechanics, safety, and tool makers, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Investigates and develops equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.

  • Performs tool liaison activities to support tool fabrication and production use

  • Participates in design reviews, collects design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models to support the build plan.

  • Create specifications and purchase requests for the acquisition of new equipment and tooling from external vendors

  • Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.

  • Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and supports user training development.

  • Manages budgets and schedules to deliver equipment and tooling solutions to customers

  • This position is a Production Engineering role and requires direct interfacing with the people and equipment on the production floor. A typical day could include:  

  • Spending up to 8 hours on feet standing/walking on the production floor

  • Climbing ladders or stairs to access equipment

  • Working at heights or in tight spaces

  • Wearing required PPE

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 1 or more years’ related engineering work experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • (Experienced level) 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • (Senior level) 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5 or more years of experience working in a production environment

  • 5 or more years of 3D modeling experience

  • 5 or more years of GD&T experience

  • 5 or more years of Project Management experience

  • Summary pay range for Associate (Level 2): $90,950 - $123,050

  • Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3): $111,350 - $150,650

  • Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $135,150 - $182,850
