Job Description and Responsibilities

TITLE: EQUIPMENT ENGINEER II

DECRIPTION

The Equipment Engineer II is responsible for maintaining all MEMS processing and cleanroom-related equipment in order to meet customers' quality and delivery expectations. The Equipment Engineer II performs preventative maintenance, repair, equipment installation and assists with initial process qualifications. Sources and maintains inventory of spare parts and related equipment consumables. Primary troubleshooter on diagnosing downed tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

MACHINE MAINTENANCE, PREVENTIVE MAINTANANCE
• Oversee and aid in scheduled maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance schedule
• Perform unscheduled repairs and maintenance in a timely manner that limits machine downtime
• Maintain in good condition and repair machine sub-assemblies and components
• Maintain calibration program for required machine components that require calibration
• Maintain test and metrology equipment
• Troubleshoot and finalize diagnosis of issues as well as lead the repair of failed equipment
• Work with Equipment Engineer I and Equipment Engineering Technicians to maintain all equipment on site.

MACHINE INSTALLATION AND QUALIFICATION
• Design changes to existing facilities in order to perform new tool installs including, electrical, plumbing, chemicals, gases, air, exhaust, ducting, etc.
• Obtain bids for outsourced work and manage onsite contractors
• Install and qualify equipment based on IQ, OQ and other requirements
• Consult with, and train process engineers on operation of newly installed equipment

SPECIAL TOOLING AND DESIGN
• Design specialty tooling requested by process engineering team
• Recommend and design tool modifications that enhance the productivity
• Work closely with process engineers to solve process related issues driven by tool configuration or hardware.

OTHER
• Maintain personal safety equipment related to the job requirements, including respiration equipment and PPE
• Must be Tier 2 level for LOTO.
• Promote positive company culture and facilitate good communication with all departments

QUALITY
• Maintain integrity of the QMS in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements
• Shared accountability for ISO 9001 clauses relating to Customer Satisfaction, Changes to Requirements for Products and Services, Nonconformity and Corrective Action, and Control of Documented Information and Records

Requirements

  • Education and Experience Requirements
    • Bachelors Degree and 3+ years of hands on work experience in the industry. OR 15+ years of hands on experience.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Tasks are performed in a clean room environment with required full cleanroom attire.
    • Position requires one to be able to work for extended periods of time on their feet.
    • Must be able to work with steady hands.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

    • Good interpersonal skills including excellent written and oral communication with others.
    • Self-starter and able to work in a team-oriented environment as well as work individually with little or no supervision.
