Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical, Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Computer Systems, or equivalent experience in healthcare or IT related field.

Experience / Qualifications
  • Epic Certified in respective application upon hire or obtain within 9 months of employment

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Preferred but not required RN degree

  • Prior analyst experience working with inpatient order entry, provide documentation and/or infection control systems.

  • Work history/knowledge of inpatient clinical operations and workflows (e.g., order entry, provider documentation, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of physician orders and downstream integrated workflows initiated from orders.

  • Prior experience with EpicCare Order Entry, Provider Documentation & Bugsy a plus.

  • Familiarity with infection control regulatory reporting requirements (state and NHSN)

  • Familiarity with hospital infection control workflows and policies.

  • Familiarity with antimicrobial stewardship program and pharmacy clinical monitoring programs.

  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for the NHSN Antimicrobial Usage and Resistance module (AUR)

  • Familiarity with how antimicrobials are ordered and dispensed.

  • Familiarity with relevant lab results for specific medications.

Position Summary TheEpic Inpatient Application Analystsupports the mission of JMC by configuring and supporting Inpatient Order Entry, Provider Documentation and Infection Control applications within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) software. The Epic Inpatient Application Analyst serves as a liaison between system end-users (customers), operational leaders, additional support resources and vendors to design, build and optimize their assigned applications in a timely and high-quality manner. The Epic Inpatient Application Analyst will provide application support and optimization. The Epic Inpatient Application Analyst must be able to analyze business issues/requirements and workflows and apply their application knowledge to meet operational and organizational needs. Project implementation responsibilities include collaborating with customers contributing to the analysis, testing, and documentation and implementation of medium to high complexity activities of assigned software. This position must possess sufficient detailed healthcare knowledge and systems expertise to implement medium to high complexity assigned application with minimal guidance. The Associate must be a self-motivated individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in team environments.
  • Acting as the primary support contact for the application's endusers.

  • Identifying issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams and working to resolve them.

  • Guiding workflow design, building, and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software.

  • Identifying and implementing requested changes to the system

  • Serving as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and Epic implementation staff.

  • Maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings

  • Working with Epic representatives, your organization's business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regard to the project deliverables and timeline.

  • Developing an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows by attending site visits and other integrated sessions.

  • Troubleshooting problems and questions

  • Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
