What you'll doProcess Engineering- Conduct process engineering research, development, and evaluation in support of Lam's cutting-edge semiconductor equipment and systems.
- Review and enhance processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture and fabrication of products.
- Develop and sustain new processes and process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields.
- Compile and analyze test data to establish next steps in process development and determine appropriate limits and variables for process specifications.
- Collaborate internally to plan, collect data, analyze results, and report on customer demos for existing process applications.
Product Engineering- Collaboratively engineer innovative semiconductor equipment and process design solutions to quickly resolve customer issues and improve product quality in a dynamic fast-paced challenging environment.
- Support product development from product prototyping, development, deployment/product release, and initial field support.
- Design and conduct experiments, tests, and prototypes to resolve complex technical problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to guide the specification and development of products.
- Provide technical support for installation and/or diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair and debugging of complex product issues.
- Work in a cleanroom lab and/or customer semiconductor fab environment.
Who we're looking forMinimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Software Engineering, Modeling Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, RF Engineering, Plasma Engineering, Plasma Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or any related field.
- Experience with Data Science, Machine Learning, and/or Artificial Intelligence methodologies, tools, and applications.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. This position is not eligible for employer sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications- Master's degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Software Engineering, Modeling Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, RF Engineering, Plasma Engineering, Plasma Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or any related field.
- Previous Internships are preferred.
- Familiarity with working in a laboratory and on semiconductor equipment with knowledge in surface preparation and analytical techniques.
- Prior product design and technical engineer experience is beneficial.
- Experience designing, specifying, building, operating, and maintaining semiconductor,automotive, aerospace, or related hardware, tools, and equipment.
- Experience coordinating and communicating with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Proficient in MATLAB, Python, or other similar scientific computing language.
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with statistical tools (JMP, Minitab, etc.)
- Knowledge of material synthesis and material characterization.
SalaryCA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $73,000.00 - $135,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
