Description:
Electrophysiology Monitor TechnicianSchedule
- 3x12-hour shifts
- Primarily days with some late nights (evenings)
- On-call/call per unit needs
Position Overview
- Provides assistance to the Electrophysiologist during EP studies, ablations, and cardiac implants
- Required to implement EP pacing maneuvers and demonstrate understanding of pacing concepts
- Responsible for communicating with MD and in-room staff to ensure all equipment and supplies are available
- Assists in facilitating room turnover and on-time starts for timely patient care
- Coordinates with Charge Nurse and third-party vendors to ensure all team members are available for scheduled procedures
Systems & Technology
- GE (MacLab & CardioLab) system experience is required to assist in pacing maneuvers and measurements
- Multiple vendor mapping systems utilized in ablations, including Carto, Abbott, and Rhythmia - monitor will assist in setup
- Epic is the primary documentation system used within the lab
Typical Procedures Performed
- RF ablations and Cryo ablations: A-fib/Flutter, Atrial tach, AVNRT, WPW, and other AVNRT ablations
- Mapping systems include Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott Ensite/Precision, and Rhythmia
- Device implants: Traditional pacemakers (single, dual, CSP, BiV) and ICD
- Sub-Q ICD, Leadless pacemaker, Loop recorders
- LAAC: Watchmans and Amulets
- HRE: Laser and low risk
Required Qualifications
- RCES or Radiologic Technologist license
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Ability to implement EP pacing maneuvers and demonstrate understanding
- GE (MacLab & CardioLab) system proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience
- Bloom Stimulator experience
- Epic documentation experience
