Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care to cardiovascular patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Contribute to occasional weekend coverage without being on-call
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team of 13 MDs and 17 APPs
  • Facilitate discussions on patient treatment plans with fellow team members
  • Participate in continuous education and training within the cardiac field

Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute is one of the Southeast's largest cardiac and vascular programs providing the highest quality care available to patients with cardiovascular disease throughout North and South Carolina. Sanger employs more than 110 physicians in a network of more than 25 locations to provide the highest quality care available to patients with cardiovascular disease. Sanger has more than 50 years of experience in providing comprehensive acute and chronic cardiovascular services, including the region's only heart transplant center and pediatric heart surgery program.

Position Highlights:
  • Monday- Friday, Four ten-hour shifts
  • Occasional weekend coverage, no call coverage
  • Hybrid (inpatient/outpatient)
  • Average of twenty cases with five admissions per provider
  • Team of 13 MDs & 17 APPs


Ideal candidates:
  • Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program AND maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
  • Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required
  • Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required
  • 1+ years of experience in cardiology and/or electrophysiology
  • Effective team collaborator
