The Environmental Services Field Supervisor for the Robson Valley (Solid Waste and Parks) is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of Regional District solid waste and parks operations within the Robson Valley service area, including transfer stations with Recycle BC depots, a construction and demolition landfill, a closed landfill, and regional parks Koeneman (McBride), Cedarside (Valemount) and George Hicks (Valemount).

Reporting to the Superintendent of Solid Waste Operations and Superintendent of Utilities, Parks, and Facilities, the Field Supervisor provides front-line leadership to unionized Environmental Services Workers and coordinates operational activities across multiple sites, often within the same workday. The role requires regular travel between facilities using a corporate fleet vehicle and involves ongoing interaction with staff, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public. The position requires a high degree of independence and the ability to respond to operational issues across a geographically dispersed service area.

The position requires a broad understanding of solid waste operations within the overall solid waste management system, including regulatory compliance, environmental protection, and coordination of multiple operational activities, as well as working knowledge of park operations, including inspection, maintenance, and public use considerations.

The Field Supervisor is expected to obtain the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) certification, reflecting the technical and regulatory responsibilities associated with landfill operations.
