What You’ll Be Doing

As Environmental Project Manager, you will support Cadmus’ rapidly growing portfolio of task orders under federal and state contracts, including work with the EPA and other government clients in the areas of drinking water, water quality, and resilience. In this role, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex task orders, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, schedules, and budgets. A strong understanding of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and associated regulatory frameworks of the National Primary Drinking Water Regulations (NPDWRs) is essential to effectively guide project activities.

You will be supporting clients during a pivotal time as the nation makes historic investments to strengthen water infrastructure and enhance the resilience of public funding programs. Working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and provide oversight of technical, financial, and policy deliverables to ensure high-quality outcomes and adherence to Cadmus’ standards of excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams delivering technical, regulatory, and data-driven solutions in support of drinking water programs and contracts, including those governed by the SDWA, with a particular focus on regulatory implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, including EPA and state agencies, to support the interpretation, rollout, and execution of new and updated drinking water regulations.
  • Oversee end-to-end task order activities to ensure effective coordination and timely implementation of SDWA/NPDWR guidance. Develop and maintain integrated project schedules that reflect team activities, dependencies, regulatory milestones, and implementation timelines. Proactively identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and remove blockers, particularly those related to regulatory interpretation and program rollout, while regularly reporting program status to stakeholders.
  • Lead project management processes, facilitating team coordination, supporting task definition, prioritization, and dependency management across workstreams focused on rule implementation, compliance support, and technical assistance. Ensure project execution aligns with SDWA statutory requirements, EPA rulemaking intent, and state primacy agency needs.
  • Support project teams in balancing scope, schedule, and quality to deliver effective, compliant implementation of drinking water regulations that protect public health. Advocate for clear priorities, technical rigor, regulatory consistency, process improvement, and client-focused outcomes that advance the successful adoption and execution of SDWA rules and drinking water programs.
  • Mentor and supervise early-career professionals, providing guidance on technical work, project delivery, and professional development.
  • Support business development efforts that expand Cadmus’ drinking water practice, including proposal development, client engagement, and identification of new opportunities.
Qualifications

  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in highly collaborative environments, preferably supporting EPA or state agency clients.
  • Proven application of project management best practices, including schedule development and tracking, risk management, quality assurance, and status reporting.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics across multiple task orders or workstreams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory rollout and implementation processes, including supporting guidance development, stakeholder coordination, and compliance assistance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory and technical information for diverse audiences.
