Job Description: Environmental ManagerPOSITION OVERVIEWThe
Environmental Manager leads the environmental function for the Pensacola manufacturing site, providing strategic and technical leadership to ensure environmental compliance, reduce operational risk, and strengthen environmental performance. This role develops a high-performing environmental team and partners with operations, engineering, maintenance, and Environmental, Safety, Security and Health (ESSH) to integrate environmental stewardship into daily operations while supporting the site's long-term business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIESEnvironmental Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental permits, regulations, and company standards.
- This role requires strong environmental compliance experience, with particular emphasis on Title V air permitting, state air regulatory requirements, reporting and multi-media compliance in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Oversee multi-media environmental programs, including air, wastewater, hazardous waste, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Identify environmental risks, implement corrective actions, and strengthen compliance systems to prevent recurrence.
- Support environmental permitting and compliance strategies for capital projects and future site growth.
Operational Partnership
- Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and ESSH to integrate environmental requirements into daily operations and project execution.
- Translate regulatory requirements into practical procedures, training, and operating expectations.
- Monitor environmental performance, communicate risks and priorities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Environmental Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the site environmental team through performance management, succession planning, and employee development.
- Establish priorities, allocate resources, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide environmental leadership and technical guidance to site leadership and operating teams.
External Relations
- Build productive relationships with regulatory agencies, consultants, community stakeholders, and on-site partner companies.
- Manage environmental consultants, contractors, budgets, and department resources.
TEAM AND INTERACTIONS- Reports to: Senior ESSH Manager
- Direct Reports: Site Environmental Team
- Partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Site Leadership, regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and on-site partner companies.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree or professional certification (Professional Engineer, Registered Environmental Manager, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of environmental compliance experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, or other complex industrial manufacturing environments; 15+ years preferred.
- Experience leading technical professionals and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong expertise in Title V air permitting, air compliance, environmental reporting, and regulatory recordkeeping.
- Experience managing multi-media environmental compliance programs, including air, water, and hazardous waste.
- Experience working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), or similar regulatory agencies.
- Experience managing environmental budgets, consultants, contractors, and resources.
- Experience supporting Process Safety Management (PSM), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), environmental management systems, capital projects, and permit modifications.

WORKING CONDITIONSThis position requires work in both office and manufacturing environments and the ability to access operating areas, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and work around typical chemical manufacturing conditions, including heat, humidity, noise, fumes, dust, gases, chemicals, moving equipment, and elevated work areas, with or without reasonable accommodation.
