Description
Orano Med Theranostics

This position manages the DDPU Radiation Safety and Environmental Health & Safety programs and serves as the subject matter expert for safety regulations impacting the various departments. Duties include developing policies and procedures in accordance with applicable regulations such as but not limited to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and Company directives.

RSO (Radiation Safety Officer) / EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and maintain Radiation Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control of radioactive materials (RAM).
• Oversee the radioactive waste management program, including storage, decay-in-storage, and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine radiation surveys, facility inspections, and internal audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs, including the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
• Manage chemical safety programs, including inventory control, labeling, storage, disposal, and fire protection considerations.
• Ensure proper hazardous material spill preparedness, including maintaining response equipment and supplies.
• Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Deliver radiation safety and EHS training to employees, promoting a strong culture of safety and regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance on the safe handling of radioactive and hazardous materials.
• Perform hazard assessments (process, job, and worksite) and implement appropriate control measures.
• Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Track and report safety metrics (KPIs).
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans for facility.
• Support regulatory inspections and audits (e.g., NRC, Agreement State, OSHA).

Minimum Qualifications :
• High school diploma (or equivalent) with 3+ years of experience in radiopharmaceutical operations.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field, with at least 1 year of relevant industry experience.
• AU, RSO, OSHA 40 training preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies:
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, and standard business communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Outlook).
• Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of complex activities with rapidly changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
