Description

The Environmental Health Safety & Security Manager provides consistent oversite for the ongoing evaluation, development, and implementation of the Safe Harbor EHS program. Provides direction and feedback to site General Manager in the implementation of their EHS programs. This position reports to the General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day EHS operations and process management
  • Coordinate with site leadership to ensure appropriate EHS involvement in department development/modification plans and procedure development
  • Represent the EHS department at site wide management meetings/briefings
  • Develop and maintain strong communication from the field back to production and manufacturing
  • Support our field test sites, including:
    • Site compliance with federal, state, local, and landowner regulations
    • Conduct safety audits at sites and build improvements
  • Maintain, develop or implement site specific environmental policies which include but are not limited to:
    • Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
    • Air permitting
    • Spill prevention/response
    • Storm water management
    • Waste water
  • Coordinating with and serve as the main point of contact for local regulatory agencies
  • Design and create policies for employees to follow that minimize job-related hazards in our testing and deployment environments
  • Develop and conduct safety training according to appropriate regulations
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager


Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
  • Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately


Technical and Physical Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Physical or Environmental Sciences or the equivalent experience in preferred
  • Professional EHS designation(s) preferred
  • 7-10 years' relevant industrial or maritime EHS experience preferred
  • Excellent understanding of OSHA (maritime and general industry) and EPA (air, water, waste) regulations and industry standards
  • Any skill considered standard that an Environmental Health, Safety & Security Manager should possess
