Location: New Westminster or North Vancouver, BC.
We are seeking Environmental Technicians to join our Infrastructure Environmental Management (IEM) team for a full-time contract from August 2026 to February 2027 to assist with large infrastructure projects. You can expect either 14 or 21 day shifts.
Responsibilities: - Perform barge-based construction monitoring, including marine mammal observation, hydroacoustic, and water quality data collection.
- Work with project contractors and owners to identify and address environmental management and protection measures.
Education and Experience: - A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction environmental monitoring.
- Relevant technical diploma, undergraduate degree, or equivalent with appropriate qualifications for work in BC.
- Relevant professional certification (BIT, RP Bio, RB Tech, AAg, PAG, AScT).
- A Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP).
- Direct experience as a construction environmental monitor, with exposure to erosion and sediment control, water quality, fish salvage, bird nesting surveys, and acoustic monitoring.
Other Assets/Skills: - Must have a valid Canadian driver's license for the past three years, and the ability to meet the requirements for our third-party automobile insurance policy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to ensure project delivery and compliance through creative and adaptable solutions.
- Understanding of pertinent environmental legislation, regulations, and guidance documents.
