Overview

TRC is seeking an Environmental Compliance Professional/Specialist for our growing environmental team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The identified candidate may also report from varied locations within the United States.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual and results-oriented leader who works with stakeholders to understand project needs and manages teams to deliver services to meet those requirements. The Environmental Compliance Professional/Specialist is responsible for performing and managing environmental compliance duties as well as maintaining quality and risk management processes to keep work on track, and delivering according to scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental compliance assurance, environmental program and procedure development, environmental training, and project management.
  • Support development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems, compliance assessments and audits to ensure effective risk control and regulatory compliance.
  • Completion of environmental compliance audits for many different types of clients throughout the United States, a plus.
  • Perform RCRA inspections to document findings and managed return to compliance actions.
  • Perform and manage environmental compliance duties including, but not limited to: air permitting, SPCC planning, NPDES/storm water permitting and reporting, SWPPP, EPCRA Tier II reporting, wastewater permitting, and hazardous waste storage/disposal.
  • Develop and implement a waste-tracking and reporting system ensuring timely state and federal submissions.
  • Provide compliance and regulatory support for multiple clients and facilities.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies for permit development and compliance.
  • Strong technical writing and data management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Prepare client deliverables.
  • Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Experience to manage, and monitor project budgets, scopes, project deliverable quality, and schedules; demonstrate the ability to lead and manage compliance and site assessment projects.
  • Work with project managers to develop proposals and setting budget to clients.
  • Client relationship management and growth.
  • Work with client account managers and account teams to meet client expectations and increase services provided to the client.
  • Maintain a billable utilization target.
  • Apply quality assurance and quality control procedures.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Sciences, or related degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial multi-media environmental compliance with various manufacturing environments across targeted industries. Focus on the following areas: environmental compliance, auditing, CAA, RCRA, EPCRA Tier II, HMBP, CARB, NPDES, SPCC, SWPPP, waste profiling & Characterization, training, etc.
  • Strong familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations in general industry, rail, and other sectors.
  • Experience in the environmental regulatory sector.
  • Demonstrated success in project and client management.
  • Ability to work within a cross functional project team of EHS professionals.
  • Ability to develop a positive relationship with our clients and employees.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical and motor vehicle records check.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $80,017.60 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
