Responsibilities

  • Prepare environmental compliance reports, including annual air emissions inventory and hazardous waste generator reports.
  • Create environmental Plans such as Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s).
  • Prepare environmental Permit Applications for wastewater and air emissions sources.
  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527-21 standards, including site visits.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, specifications, letters, and proposals.

Overview

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity foran exceptional Environmental Compliance Practitionerto join our team in Oak Brook, IL,the opportunity to work fully remote from your home-office may be available at the discretion of the Company. In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations in the areas of environmental permitting, compliance and auditing, for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing environmental compliance reports, including annual air emissions inventory reports, hazardous waste generator27s reports, SARA 312 Tier II reports, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reports, air permit summary of monitoring and compliance certifications and similar reports.
  • Preparing environmental Plans such as Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s) and Slug Discharge Control Plans.
  • Preparing environmental Permit Applications for industrial wastewater and industrial stormwater discharges, and air emissions sources.
  • Conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM International27s E1527-21 Standard, including site visits, and ordering, receiving and reviewing database reports and writing Phase I ESA Reports (preferred); and,
  • Contributing to the preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, specifications and proposals.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor27s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering or similar. (required)
  • Advanced degree (M.S.) in a related field. (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or similar professional certification in your field. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting deadlines, and traveling to facilities as needed. (required)
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver27s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER trained. (preferred)
  • Prior experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec27s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $123,235/year / Maximum Salary: $172,530 /year (Illinois)
