Full Job Description
ERM is hiring Construction Manager (Early Works Project Manager) supporting our key technology client in Reno, Nevada. This role will be responsible for overseeing the planning, compliance, and execution of the early works construction activities for large-scale data center developments. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in large-scale construction management, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates strong leadership across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. The position is onsite and will play a critical role in managing field delivery complex civil and infrastructure scopes. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), limited-term role with a 12-month duration, with a possible 6-month renewal.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-site construction management for early works scopes including mass grading, utilities, roads, demolition, and remediation.
  • Direct and coordinate daily field activities to ensure safe, timely, and quality delivery.
  • Serve as single point of contact for early works construction and communicate project status.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget including KPI and cost tracking.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, and stakeholders for aligned execution.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Support agency coordination, stakeholder engagement, and community interactions.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and develop reporting tools.
  • Manage vendor performance and ensure contract compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and problem solving across project phases.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of construction management experience or equivalent expertise.
  • 7+ years managing complex capital projects and programs.
  • Strong experience in "extreme" mass grading and large-scale civil construction (projects no less than 4 million cubic yards of soil) for 10 years.
  • Experience with mission-critical facilities or large-scale projects.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, and Bluebeam (P6 preferred).
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and manage cross-functional teams and relationships.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential
  • Experience with:
    • cold shell or large distribution center construction
    • subgrade infrastructure and utility coordination
    • seismic construction environments
  • Track record of driving innovative solutions and overcoming project barriers


Pay Transparency:

For the Environmental Compliance Construction Manager position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $97,760.00 - $122,720.00, $47.00/hr - $59.00/hr USD, limited-term, non-exempt. An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee's fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/Flexforce employees are NOT bonus eligible).
