Job DescriptionThe
Bloomfield, NJ office of Dewberry is seeking an
Entry Level Traffic Engineer for its
Traffic Engineering Department. Candidates who are eager to learn will perform Traffic Studies, Traffic Analyses and Traffic Engineering tasks such as Traffic Signal design, ITS and Electrical/Roadway lighting following state and municipal design standards and practices.

Responsibilities- Work with a team of engineers, planners, and technicians on roadway and transit projects
- Perform field investigations, assisting in traffic analysis, design, and construction support tasks
- Ability to learn planning and design aspects of projects
- Prepare construction cost estimates and quantities
- Design Traffic Signals and signal timings per agency standards
- Prepare Traffic Signal plans
- Experienced in or have the ability to learn traffic modeling
- Prior software experience including Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, AIMSUN, CUBE, TransCAD, ARCGIS a plus
Required Skills & Required Experience- Bachelor's of Science in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
- 0-3 years experience in the field of traffic engineering.
- Familiarity with ITS technologies and wireless communications is a plus
- Familiarity with NJDOT, NJTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and/or PANYNJ highway projects preferred but not required.
The projected range for this position is $79,800 - $82,300 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.*At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization.
