Who You'll Work With 

At Design Group, you'll collaborate with experienced leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to solve complex challenges for some of the world's leading companies. You'll join a growing team of more than 1,500 professionals across 45 U.S. offices where you'll be empowered to make an impact, develop your expertise, and grow your career. 

What You'll Do 

In this role, you'll support the electrical design and delivery of capital projects for manufacturing and industrial clients. You'll work with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project partners to develop coordinated power distribution and lighting solutions for renovations and greenfield facilities. Your work will help clients improve facility performance while expanding your knowledge of electrical systems, applicable codes, and design-build project delivery. You'll gain experience across multiple projects while building the technical foundation needed to advance as an electrical engineering professional. 

  • Design low- and medium-voltage power distribution and lighting systems for manufacturing and industrial facility renovations and greenfield projects 

  • Develop coordinated electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and system models using Revit and AutoCAD 

  • Support the design of motor control centers, generators, transformers, low-voltage substations, and uninterruptible power supply systems 

  • Perform lighting and energy-code analyses using photometric, Title 24, and EnergyPro software 

  • Review and interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, and existing facility documentation 

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and system integrators on multidisciplinary capital projects 

  • Apply National Electrical Code, California Electrical Code, energy-code, and local amendment requirements to project designs 

  • Update electrical system models and incorporate as-built information into master CAD documentation 

  • Coordinate multiple project assignments to meet quality, schedule, and client requirements 

  • Support client-site activities, including installation, start-up, meetings, and training, as required 

What You'll Bring 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution 

  • Engineer-in-Training certification or willingness to sit for the EIT exam 

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design documentation 

  • Experience developing or updating electrical power distribution, lighting, or system design models 

  • Ability to travel for project requirements, including client-site activities, installation and start-up support, meetings, training, seminars, forums, and conventions 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with low- and medium-voltage power systems, SKM PowerTools, load-flow analysis, or lighting photometric software 

  • Familiarity with Title 24, the California Electrical Code, electrical as-built documentation, or facility document control systems 

  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary design-build capital projects in an architecture and engineering firm environment 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as geographic location of the position.
