Caterpillar is looking for an experienced payments leader to serve as the Enterprise Payments Governance & Operations Lead, helping establish and scale Caterpillar's Enterprise Payments Center of Excellence (CoE) within Cat Digital. This role sits at the center of how enterprise payment decisions are made across the company, ensuring that business units can deliver customer payment experiences while operating within a consistent set of enterprise standards and governance frameworks.

You will be responsible for operationalizing Caterpillar's enterprise payments governance model, translating strategy into repeatable processes, decision frameworks, and controls that can be consistently applied across business units, geographies, and channels.

Your focus is not on owning individual payment implementations, but on ensuring that payment related decisions across the enterprise are aligned, scalable, and compliant.

You will lead governance activities across enterprise payment initiatives and partner closely with Treasury, Tax, Legal, ERP, Finance, Product, Architecture, and Digital teams to drive consistent decision making, manage exceptions, and establish standards that support enterprise growth.

  • Serve as a primary escalation point for governance related decisions and exceptions
  • Establish governance metrics, reporting, and performance indicators to monitor compliance and adoption
  • Maintain visibility into enterprise payment initiatives and ensure alignment with long-term enterprise objectives
  • Support the continued evolution of the Enterprise Payments CoE operating model

Success in this role looks like:
  • Payment related decisions are made consistently across business units and platforms

  • Governance processes are viewed as enabling business outcomes rather than creating bureaucracy
  • PSP providers are selected and managed through a consistent enterprise process

  • Stakeholders clearly understand governance expectations and decision pathways
  • Enterprise standards are adopted broadly across the organization
  • Governance decisions are documented, communicated, and implemented effectively
  • Treasury, Tax, Legal, Finance, and Digital teams remain aligned on enterprise payment priorities
  • The Enterprise Payments CoE is recognized as a trusted partner and strategic enabler across Caterpillar
