Job Description

About the Role

Victaulic is building out a formal Enterprise Architecture (EA) function, and this role is a foundational addition to that team. The Enterprise Architect works across business and technology domains to develop architecture standards, evaluate platforms and vendors, and guide technology decisions that affect the company as a whole. This is a generalist EA role: rather than owning a single domain (such as ERP/CRM or data), the Enterprise Architect operates across the full Business, Data, Application, and Technology (BDAT) spectrum, partnering with domain architects, business stakeholders, and governance bodies to keep Victaulic's technology landscape coherent, well-governed, and aligned to business strategy.

What You'll Do

Architecture Strategy & Governance
  • Develop and maintain architecture standards, patterns, and reference models that span business, data, application, and technology domains.
  • Participate in and help facilitate Victaulic's architecture governance bodies, including the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Technical Advisory Board (TAB), preparing assessments and presenting recommendations.
  • Apply and help evolve intake and tiering criteria to route architecture decisions to the appropriate level of review.

Technology & Vendor Evaluation
  • Lead evaluations of new platforms, tools, and vendors, producing structured comparisons and TAB-ready recommendation documents.
  • Assess vendor and technology risk across dimensions such as security, integration complexity, total cost of ownership, and strategic fit.
  • Maintain awareness of the enterprise technology landscape and identify opportunities for consolidation, standardization, or modernization.

Enterprise Architecture Repository & Modeling
  • Maintain architecture artifacts in Victaulic's EA repository including capability maps, application portfolios, and integration landscapes.
  • Produce and maintain architecture diagrams and models (e.g., layered, hub-and-spoke, domain-grouped, or TOGAF-style views) to communicate current and target-state architecture.
  • Ensure architecture documentation stays current as systems, integrations, and business capabilities evolve.

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Collaborate with Domain Architects (e.g., ERP/CRM, Data, Platform) to ensure consistency across domain-specific and enterprise-wide architecture decisions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate business capabilities and strategy into architecture roadmaps.
  • Participate in solution architecture sessions to recommend best architectural approaches for given business requirements.
  • Work with IT leadership, security, and compliance teams to ensure architecture decisions meet enterprise risk and control requirements.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or a closely related technology role.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, BDAT) and the ability to apply them pragmatically rather than academically.
  • Experience evaluating enterprise platforms, vendors, or technologies and producing clear, decision-ready documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including governance boards and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience with, or strong working knowledge of, EA repository/modeling tools (e.g., Ardoq, LeanIX, Orbus, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications
  • TOGAF certification or equivalent formal EA training.
  • Experience operating within a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly regulated enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms and their integration and extensibility models.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft) at a conceptual/architectural level.
  • Experience contributing to a growing EA practice, such as supporting governance processes, intake workflows, or EA tool rollouts.
