Job Description

Oversee implementation and management of the organizations infrastructure systems, to include, but not limited to, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and related cloud services.

Develop, implement, and maintain policies, standards, and procedures to ensure secure, reliable, and highly available enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work with Architects to establish enterprise technology solutions that support business objectives, operational requirements, and the strategic direction of Information Technology.
  • Assist Architects in evaluating current-state environments, identifying technical debt and architectural limitations, and developing future-state roadmaps and modernization strategies.
  • Partner with Architects to identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and operational efficiency across enterprise systems and endpoint management platforms.
  • Collaborate with Architects to design solutions that provide high availability, security, scalability, and reliability across enterprise environments.
  • Adhere to change management and version control processes, including documentation, approval, testing, and implementation of system changes.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, system diagrams, standards, and operational procedures for assigned enterprise platforms.
  • Provide Tier IV support and serve as the highest level of technical escalation for complex identity, endpoint management, and infrastructure issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced problems involving Microsoft enterprise technologies, endpoint management, authentication, device compliance, software deployment, and cloud integration.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point and technical resource for the systems administration team.
  • Develop test plans, implementation plans, migration strategies, and project timelines in partnership with Infrastructure Project Managers.
  • Ensure enterprise systems meet security, compliance, audit, and governance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation through PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and other Microsoft technologies to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
  • Stay current on Microsoft platform developments, emerging technologies, and industry best practices through ongoing training, certification, and professional development.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Maintain quality standards on all projects.


Technical Responsibilities

Identity & Access Management
  • Engineer and support Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, hybrid identity solutions, and authentication services.
  • Manage Conditional Access policies, Multifactor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and identity governance solutions.
  • Support identity lifecycle management, provisioning, and access control processes.

Endpoint Management
  • Engineer, administer, and optimize Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Design and maintain endpoint management strategies for Windows, mobile devices, and remote workforce solutions.
  • Manage operating system deployment, patch management, software distribution, compliance policies, and endpoint security configurations.
  • Implement modern device management strategies, including Autopilot and co-management.

Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services
  • Support Microsoft 365 services and integrations, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and related cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain Microsoft security solutions and compliance controls.
  • Assist in cloud adoption, migration, and modernization initiatives.


Automation & Operations
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation solutions to streamline system administration and operational processes.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability while proactively addressing risks and issues.
  • Participate in enterprise projects, upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of relevant experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience engineering, administering, and supporting enterprise Microsoft infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft environments in both on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable violation history may be required.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 administration and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience with Windows Server, PowerShell automation, and virtualization platforms.
  • Experience implementing and supporting security technologies such as Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, Defender, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Graph API, automation frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Experience supporting highly available and mission-critical enterprise systems.
  • Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Endpoint Administrator Associate, or equivalent preferred.
