Responsibilities

Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Engineering Technician VI to support our Dahlgren, VA customer.

Candidate will provide configuration management (CM), logistics, mechanical and electrical engineering technician services, field service support, project management, drafting and design, technical writing, and acquisition services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Unmanned & Expeditionary Weapon Systems (H40) Division and Intelligent Automation (H60) Division.

Duties and Responsibilities: Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Develops new test procedures and measurement techniques
• Conducts tests and experiments to prove/disprove feasibility of design
• Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.; performing computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plotting data and draws simple curves and graphs.
• Responding to and tracking issued work tickets
• Supporting facility, assets, and equipment to maintain, repair, modify, replace, and upgrade
• May provide work leadership for lower level employees Designs and constructs major units and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education:
• High school diploma or passing score on the General Education Development (GED) exam AND Seven (7) years of full-time professional experience working as an Engineering Technician

Allowable Substitution:

Four (4) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

OR

Associate's Degree plus two (2) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Required Experience:
• Five (5) years full-time hands-on experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing of any major military system.
• Experience in developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance; while assisting engineers in inspecting products, conducting tests, and collecting data.
• Experience with following published user manuals and maintenance documentation. In addition, experience reading, editing, and creating electrical drawings and system schematics.

This position is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standard under a Wage Determination. As such Under the SCA selected candidates are entitled to both the hourly rate aforementioned and a health and welfare benefit. Precise Systems is meeting that benefit through the use of a bona fide plan which includes certain insurance coverage.

Must hold and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $68,952.32-$103,428.48 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
