Overview

ENGINEERING SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (MIELS):

 

Bowhead is seeking Engineering Systems Administrators to support a customer in Stafford, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and related software on proem and in the cloud.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Install and maintain infrastructure services including: Servers, Storage, KVM, etc as required in support of enterprise operations.
  • Implement and manage security measures to comply with DoD/IC policies and regulations.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
  • Administer and support physical and virtual servers across multiple sites.
  • Ensure proper configuration and health of server hardware, including storage and compute resources.
  • Develop and implement scripts to automate system administration tasks.
  • Provide advanced support for technical issues escalated from lower tier administrators or end users.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with other teams to support system integrations and new initiatives.
  • Assess system performance and scalability to ensure infrastructure can support future growth.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree, or five (5+) years’ of practical experience in system administration management.
  • DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required within the task order.
  • Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment specified.
  • Cloud certified.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

The pay scale for this position is between $110,000 - $135,000.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level with eligibility for SCI / Counter Intelligence Polygraph.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
