Description The Engineering Support Specialist will assist in engineering design, technical documentation, and analysis efforts supporting a variety of energetic materials projects. This position requires the ability to support engineering functions and collaborate with technical teams in a structured program environment.
This role is critical to supporting engineering operations by assisting with technical documentation, analysis, and coordination of engineering activities.
Primary Responsibilities: - Perform engineering design functions for energetic materials manufacturing projects
- Develop technical documentation including drawings, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality production plans, and technical working documents
- Perform blast analysis for safety, protective engineering, and weapons system validation
- Assist with analysis of test results, data entry, and basic statistical analysis
- Perform design, development, analysis, manufacturing, and in-service engineering functions across energetic projects
- Provide technical subject matter support in energetics design, development, manufacturing, and in-service engineering
- Create and maintain non-controlled documentation, transcription of documents, and data entry
- Develop management support documentation such as PERT and GANTT charts
- Create and manage technical data packages (TDPs), budgets, programmatic, and administrative documentation
- Interact with project managers, supervisors, and civilian technical personnel
- Maintain records, files, and revision tracking for all technical documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational objectives
Qualifications: Required: - Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (Must have interim clearance before start date)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience supporting engineering or technical programs
- Experience with documentation, analysis, and reporting
Preferred: - Experience supporting energetics, ammunition, explosives, or defense programs
- Experience working at NSWC Indian Head or similar DoD environments
- Familiarity with engineering documentation and technical data packages
- Experience supporting engineering design, testing, or manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting government contracts or technical programs
