Job Summary

Under general supervision and with on-going review, this position supports program engineering and manufacturing by serving as a liaison between the engineering and manufacturing departments. Reviews program development progress and expedites critical path components and processes to maintain schedule. Evaluates and resolves engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality and material engineering. Maintains physical control of program assets. Performs Quality Inspection and maintain Configuration accuracy. This position involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs Quality Inspection of Serviceable and Unserviceable assets.
  • Reviews and Maintains Asset Configurations.
  • Identifies issues in Engineering and Manufacturing and recommends resolutions.
  • Reviews Engineering specifications and drawings. Conferring across functional areas to provide and obtain technical information.
  • Assists in and/or monitors the design and development process by coordinating between various Engineering and Manufacturing departments.
  • Coordinates Engineering support for Material Demand Requirements and ensures schedule parity.
  • Maintains project specific prototype inventory control.
  • Coordinates with Manufacturing Service Request activities by resolving priority schedule conflicts.
  • Reviews open Engineering issues affecting demand.
  • Alerts Material Planning department to open Engineering issues that may affect demand.
  • Alerts Engineering departments to demand activity that may affect outstanding work.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, planning or a related discipline. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of Production and Engineering support principles and concepts, and a general understanding of practices, techniques, and standards.
  • QA/QC record keeping and the tracking of maintenance on aircraft is highly desired.
  • Aviation maintenance experience and knowledge a plus.
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
    • the ability to use independent analysis and judgment in developing solutions to a variety of non-routine problems
    • the ability to identify issues and interpret data.
    • organization skills to maintain flow of work within the unit
    • excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to interface with internal employees and external customers
    • the ability to accurately document and report information
    • strong knowledge of computer operations, applications, word processing, and spreadsheets
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
