Engineering Manager • Power Generation Design Location: Mansfield, TX or Remote with Travel

Compensation: $150,000 • $175,000 Annually + Bonus
Travel: Up to 50%
The Opportunity The Engineering Manager leads a multidisciplinary engineering design team delivering power generation projects. You will develop engineers, plan resources, oversee design quality and schedules, and set standards for coordinated drawings and specifications. You will work with project, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams from design through startup.
What You Will Do - Lead, coach, hire, and develop engineers and designers; set expectations for technical quality and delivery.
- Oversee engineering drawings, design criteria, equipment and construction specifications, and other design deliverables. Ensure they meet codes, client requirements, and project needs.
- Establish design standards, specification templates, review practices, and quality controls across disciplines.
- Plan staffing and engineering schedules across projects; monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and address scope, schedule, and quality risks.
- Provide technical direction for generation and distribution systems, including generators, gas turbines, transformers, switchgear, protection and controls, auxiliary power, and balance-of-plant systems.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, vendors, procurement, field teams, and commissioning to resolve design and constructability issues and incorporate lessons learned.
- Support project estimates, scopes of work, and proposals.
What We're Looking For Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Typically 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including leadership of engineers, designers, or technical project teams.
- Experience managing engineering deliverables across multiple complex industrial, utility, energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of engineering design, technical specifications, applicable codes and standards, and quality review processes.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Power generation facility design and experience with generators, gas turbines, medium-voltage distribution, or balance-of-plant systems.
- Experience developing construction or equipment specifications, design standards, or master specifications.
- Experience with protection and control systems, electrical studies, plant controls, or SCADA.
- Experience supporting procurement, construction, commissioning, or startup; PE license or ability to obtain one.
