Engineering Manager
The Ocean County Utilities Authority, a public wastewater treatment facility consisting of three treatment plants and 40 pumping stations, is presently seeking a Engineering Manager. The position is located in Bayville, NJ.
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of engineering services for the Authority, including the planning, design, and construction of new and rehabilitated facilities, as well as providing engineering support for operations and maintenance activities. This position plays a critical role in the successful delivery of capital projects related to wastewater collection, conveyance, treatment, and residuals handling.
Key responsibilities include managing the development of project scopes, technical specifications, contract documents, permitting activities, and funding applications; overseeing engineering services during construction; and coordinating with operating divisions, consultants, contractors, and funding agencies. The Engineering Manager will also supervise and mentor engineering staff, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with Authority objectives and regulatory requirements.
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline and a minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience in the water/wastewater industry or a related field. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, project management, analytical, and communication skills, along with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of Applications, the Authority's resource planning system (SAP), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Electronic Data Management System (EDMS), ADP, and GIS. A New Jersey Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and a valid New Jersey driver's license are required, while a graduate degree and prior supervisory experience are preferred.
The Authority offers a competitive annual salary range of $120,000 to $150,000 (depending on qualifications) with an excellent benefits package including State pension (PERS), Health Benefits, 12 paid holidays and generous paid time off.
