Job SummaryThis position provides the opportunity to work in a unique and innovative technical environment for a highly successful international OEM of food-processing-equipment. The Engineering Manager leads a specialized product line group focused on equipment performance, compliance, and reliability. Ultimately, innovative technical developments and solutions ensure on-going customer satisfaction.
ResponsibilitiesLead the product line engineering team responsible for continuous improvement to legacy equipment as well as new-to-the-business new products to an expanding customer base. Management duties to include well organized and timely introduction of improvements needed to drive mature business growth and new business growth and revenue.
- Oversee the staffing, development, and training of the engineering department to provide significant growth in personnel both individually and organizationally.
- Provide hands-on engineering support to all areas of the product line organization to ensure deliverables meet or exceed performance, product quality and machine safety expectations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to Engineers on product design and documentation creation.
- Manage schedule, budget, and resource allocations for intermediate and large projects.
- Create statement of work contracts and manage work of third-party contractors.
- Work closely with both internal and external manufacturing resources to optimize part cost and quality.
- Continue to develop existing engineering processes and provide effective solutions to improve procedures and engineering process workflow.
- Develop and track data and key performance metrics to evaluate internal and external performance.
- Manage and coordinate with internal stakeholders on ad hoc requests for new projects or derivative/special products, maintaining alignment with product and company strategic plans.
- Manage, track, and report actual engineering costs versus budget.
- Contribute to our overall Strategic Plan, ensuring continuous alignment and execution of that Plan.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Qualifications- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (BSME or applicable bachelor's degree).
- A minimum of 10 years' experience with engineering principals, complex equipment design, material handling and/or related electro-mechanical design is required.
- Knowledge of OSHA and CE requirements for machine safety.
- Demonstrated skills with engineering design tools, including SolidWorks Mechanical or equivalent.
- 5 plus years of managing an Engineering organization with a clear understanding of Product Data Management, engineering change processes, design documentation and bill-of-material structure.
- Proficiency in all of the following preferred: GD&T, DFMA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP.
- Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding employee and company information.
- Ability to calmly and professionally work with a variety of people and personalities.
- Willing and able to travel (approximately 15%-30%). Domestic and international.

*The pay range for this role begins at $135,000-165,000 annually. Salary information is a general guideline only.
