Farnsworth Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and grow our Energy & Utilities Telecom team in our Charlotte, NC office. This individual will be a key leader in our Telecommunications Team, responsible for driving technical excellence, mentoring staff, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex utility and telecom projects throughout the region.

What You'll Do: - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and technical staff in the Charlotte office. You will be responsible for resource planning, performance management, and fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Provide high-level technical direction and quality control for the planning, design, and permitting of telecommunications and utility projects.
- Oversee a portfolio of projects to ensure they are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with leadership to identify business development opportunities in the Southeast market and contribute to the development of proposals, including project scope and fee estimates.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for technical inquiries and project updates.
- Review engineering plans and ensure all work products meet industry standards and firm-wide quality benchmarks.

What You'll Need: - Typically, 10+ years of experience in engineering design and project management, with a focus on telecommunications, utilities, or transportation infrastructure.
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity, managing technical teams and project workflows.
- Experience with utility relocation projects, conflict analysis, or utility coordination.
- Strong knowledge of local and state permitting processes and utility regulations in North Carolina.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to lead meetings and represent the firm professionally.
Nice To Haves: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, with the ability to obtain North Carolina licensure within 6 months of hire.
- Established network within the North Carolina utility or telecom industry.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Bluebeam from a management and review perspective.
