Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Manage all activities in the Department, including Plant Automation, Plant & Building Maintenance, Product Handling, Process Optimization, IML Systems and Processes, Cost Reduction, plant and machine PM's, and stable OP's. Will assist as needed with new tooling test runs and qualifications, both supplier and Amcor facilities.
- Assist all plant departments in optimizing productivity and product flow.
- Assist all plant departments on capital project justifications specifications and implementation.
- Travel as required to address qualifications tests runs, customers concerns, training, ect.
- Assist in plant automation and robotics projects, plant machine projects, and new capital projects related to Plant, Building, and equipment projects.
- Coordinate training programs with plant departments.
- Prepare detailed CAD drawings where needed and required.
- Solicit and coordinate services with outside vendors and contractors.
- Assist the production and/or Plant Manager when choosing new production equipment, tooling, and automation.
- Be the lead IML responsible technical/process control point
- Coordinate label development and approval in close association with the Graphic Arts Coordinator. Recommend supplier/source IML suppliers based on capabilities, process control, label quality and total capabilities.
- Responsible for the quality of the production and activities that are carried out in the department.
- Be familiar with ISO and SQF procedures.
- Ensure all safety and environmental policies of Amcor are being followed in the department.
- Attend safety and environmental meetings.
- Monitor and insure that all OPMS are done per the JDE schedule and report all safety situations immediately.
- Purchase the necessary supplies for the department according to budget and policies for purchasing.
- Supply necessary information for the yearly budget planning to the Production Manager.
- Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or plant operations, with proven leadership responsibility
- Strong technical knowledge of plant automation, robotics, equipment maintenance, and process optimization
- Demonstrated experience managing capital projects, including planning, budgeting, and implementation.
- Proficiency in CAD software and ability to develop technical drawings as needed
- Experience working with production equipment, tooling, and new product or process qualifications
- Knowledge of ISO and SQF standards, with experience in quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, purchasing, and vendor relationships
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $103,302.40 to $120,519.47. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan/Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
