Job DescriptionSummaryCentrus is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to help lead daily Design Engineering activities and provide continuity of leadership when the Engineering Manager is unavailable. This role will support the AC100 Machine Design, Gas Test Stand Project, and other Design Team priorities.
Daily tasks will require working across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management teams to ensure technical work and design changes are completed safely, accurately, and compliantly. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can coordinate complex day to day execution of engineering activities, resolve issues, and maintain strong change-control discipline.
What You'll Be DoingYou will assist the Engineering Manager by coordinating daily engineering work, setting priorities, and providing technical leadership for Design Engineering projects and manufacturing support activities. You will help ensure designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation are complete, accurate, and ready to support project and production needs.
Your work includes managing engineering changes resulting from the ESO process, manufacturing feedback, nonconformances, and project requirements. You will coordinate the review, approval, documentation, and implementation of Engineering Change Records (ECRs), Material Condition Reports (MCRs), and Design Deviation Requests (DRs).
You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Project Management to resolve technical issues, support troubleshooting and corrective actions, track engineering commitments, and keep leadership informed of project status, risks, and resource needs.
We'd Love to Hear from Candidates with- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Nuclear, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline
- Five or more years of engineering experience in equipment design, manufacturing support, fabrication, or a regulated industrial environment
- Experience leading engineering projects, technical work packages, or cross-functional teams
- Experience with engineering change control, design documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical reviews
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication, and production support
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
A Successful Candidate Brings- Experience supporting complex machine design, test equipment, facility systems, or capital projects
- Familiarity with ECRs, MCRs, DRs, nonconformance resolution, and corrective-action processes
- Ability to coordinate effectively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, compliant, high-quality engineering execution
- Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, energy, or another highly regulated industry
PayEstimated Starting Base Salary Range: $117,778 -$196,297. This position is Incentive eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.
