Full Job Description
This Construction Manager works with DVL Sales Managers, Service & Engineering Departments as well as chosen Contractors, Engineers and Riggers and with the end user customer. It includes being responsible for the Department and every construction project from conception, budgeting, picking vendors/contractors and the full construction process. Tasks include designing unique conceptual plans for completing Turnkey Data Center construction projects and overseeing one-to-one replacements with little to no downtime. We are a hybrid company working 3 days in our Bristol, PA office including Tuesdays, our anchor day.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
  • Manage and develop conceptual plans for complete turnkey data center and other critical power design-build construction projects.
  • Mange and develop accurate construction cost estimates based on conceptual ideas and proposed bill of materials.
  • Management of integrated mechanical and/or electrical projects, including a team approach to the development of construction documents to be utilized for bid and build purposes. This can include heavy vendor interface, providing job schedules, and development of customized interface drawings/project submittals.
  • Solicit competitive bids from select subcontractors as required.
  • Pull the required permits for construction projects. Interface with inspectors and AHJ as needed.
  • Initial site visits with sales managers and onsite construction meetings and project meetings.
  • Track deliveries and schedule installation of long lead items.
  • Review the construction progress versus planned schedules and benchmark installation quality.
  • Development and oversee Method of Procedures (MOP's) required for critical work activities and present those MOPs to end users and installing contractors. Confirm all tasks are "safe" and any impact to ongoing operations are absolutely minimized.
  • Development of testing, commissioning, customer turnover, closing out and as built documents.
  • Department budget oversight and attendance in monthly operations meetings.
  • Assisting the Sales Engineer in initial project design meetings.
  • Oversee project kick off meetings and mobilize contractors during a given project.
  • Assist other departments in equipment servicing & testing, load banking, equipment field operation, equipment installation & modification.
  • Work with Sales to develop opportunities and assist as needed to turn opportunities into closed business for DVL. Actively participate in growing the Department's top & bottom lines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
  • Some job-related certifications are preferred. Mechanical, Electrical, or an Engineering-related degree strongly preferred.
  • 10 years of related field design-build with an emphasis on data center experience.
  • AutoCAD and/or Visio for development of site plans and electrical schematics.
  • Solid understanding and experience of electrical generation, distribution, air conditioning & control systems.
  • Solid understanding of the National Electric Code.
  • Solid understanding of NFPA 70E & OSHA electrical safety regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proficient with estimating software such as Accubid or Equal.
  • Exposure to design-bid-build & design-build processes.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends when required for a construction project.

The pay range is $130,000- $145,000/year plus bonus based on relevant experience
