ResponsibilitiesAs anEngineering Analystspecializing in laser deconflictionforsupport ofa national security program space warfighting mission, you willbe responsibleforvalidatingthe integrity oforbital dataavailableand performingdirected energy (Laser)deconflictionanalysisofterrestrial andspace-basedthreatsagainstvulnerableassets.As part of the flight safety engineering team,you willberesponsible forensuringallprogramandsupporting ground stationoperators, plannersanddecision-makersare forewarned againstpotential sources ofoptical targetingthat mayimpedesuccessful mission execution.Additionally, theEngineering Analyst (Laser)will develop,maintainanddeconfliction operation productsand create new or updated procedures and checklists as necessary to improveoperating efficiencies and integrate new system capabilities.A successful candidate will developintegrativetechnicalsolutions,supporttrainingandexercise efforts,andcommunicateeffectivelywith leadershipandexternal partner agenciesasappropriate.
- Performconjunction assessment (CA) and DirectedEnergy deconfliction screenings routinely and ad hoc asrequired
- Create and update procedures and checklist forassetprotection, risk mitigation and deconfliction analysis
- Supportintegrationeffortsofnew data sourcesinlegacy and developingsystemtools
- Improvetactics, technics, and procedures (TTPs) for flight safetyand mission protectionoperations;inform training material changeswhen necessary
- Maintainsystemproficiencyandawareness of currentspace domain threat activity
- Screenpre&post-launchTLEs,state trajectoriesand on-orbit hypothetical-burn ephemerisoflatest resident space object (RSO)catalog to mitigate collision risks
- Operate orbit propagatingsoftwareexpertly, navigate GUIs,understand requiredfieldinputsvolumes and reporting criteriato deliver products to owner/operator
- Participate inflight safety meetings andparticipatein training and exercise efforts

Qualifications
- 5 years of experience with a BS/BA degree, 3 years of experience with a MS/MA degree, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- 2+ years of combined experience working in flight safety (CA),laserdeconfliction,space operations requiring flight safety system tools (i.e., STK, ASW)oras Systems/Software Engineerforrelevant mission systems
- 2+ yearsexperience withFlight Safety tools (i.e.,Astrodynamics Support Workstation(ASW)SuperCombotoolorSTK) or STKLevel2certification in lieu ofworkingexperience
- Active TS/SCI withadjudicated Poly
Preferred:
- 4+ years of combined experience working in flight safety (CA),laserdeconfliction,space operations requiring flight safety system toolsor as Systems/Software Engineer
- Advanced understanding of orbital mechanics, flight safetytoolsand missionscope
- Understandingof foreign/domestic space & groundthreatcapabilities
- Prior working experience withIC
- Experienceworking andcollaborating with military and civilian leadersof all ranks
Target Salary Range$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual27s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
