JT4 is currently seeking an experienced Flight Test Engineer to join our test team as Test Conductor with multiple years of experience performing developmental test support for military aircraft. The candidate will be developed to become a Test Director. Candidate should have significant experience working in control rooms, reviewing test and safety plans, writing test cards, and scheduling range and aircraft assets. Duties and responsibilities of a Test Conductor/Test Director (TC/TD) include: - Planning, test reporting, and scheduling mission requirements for ground and flight tests by developing and maintaining flight test support materials including flight/ground test cards. - Determine and communicate aircraft test and configuration requirements to the responsible discipline engineering, maintenance, and flight operations teams to ensure aircraft readiness. - Conduct test missions from a control room. - Perform Test Conductor duties after all qualification criteria have been met. - Lead the control room team, test mission briefings, and post-flight debriefs. - Individual will also become a Unit Test Safety Officer (UTSO), reviewing, editing, and signing off on flight test safety plans. As a Flight Test Conductor, your typical day may include any of the following: - Collaborating across a broad spectrum of individuals and disciplines. - Developing plans for upcoming testing. - Briefing and conducting ground and flight testing in a Mission Control Room (MCR) and debriefing the test team. - Evaluating test results and working to resolve any issues encountered. Leading and implementing process improvements to increase test efficiency. Desired Skills: - Above average and effective communication and coordination skills. - Experience and understanding of control room conduct, principles of Situational Awareness, and Crew Resource Management (CRM). - Ability to interface with all levels of Combined Test Force (CTF) management including Program Managers, Engineers, Test Conductors, and military personnel. - Innovative mindset is an absolute plus for this opportunity. - Airmanship skills (prior military flying as a Pilot, FTE, and/or FAA general aviation flying experience). - Graduate of a recognized Test Pilot School (USAF TPS, Navy TPS, EPNER, ETPS, NTPS, etc.). DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5 years of related Test Conductor experience or Master's Degree in Engineering with 2 years of related Test Conductor experience - Must possess a well-established, substantial, professional reputation in one or more of the principal technical disciplines of the Company. - Must demonstrate the ability to direct technical operations personnel in the project. - Must use excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in day-to-day project activities as well as in briefing customers and in writing reports and proposals. - Must possess planning/organizing skills and have a working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools. - Minimal Travel may be required as part of duties. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 14 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum of eight (8) years of related engineering experience are required for this position. In addition, an Engineer V must possess the following qualifications: - Well-established, substantial, professional reputation in one or more of the principal technical disciplines of the company - Demonstrated ability to direct senior technical personnel in project assignments involving research, development, integration, and sustainment of complex systems or processes - Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools - Superior communications skills, both verbal and written, in day-to-day project activities as well as in briefing customers and in writing reports and proposals - Overtime, non-standard shifts, and weekend work may be required in order to support test schedules. - Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines - Must possess a valid, state issued driver's license - Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance - Must be a U.S. citizen SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $135,000 to $180,000 annually. Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay.
