This role bridges engineering design and hands-on manufacturing by utilizing CAD software, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and prototype assembly techniques to accelerate product development. You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product management teams to transform concepts into functional prototypes that will be tested and refined until they progress to production-ready designs. If you are equally comfortable working at a CAD workstation and in a machine shop environment, this role is for you.

  • Design components, fixtures, tooling, and prototype equipment.
  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, manual machine tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Produce prototype components from metals, plastics, and composite materials, and assemble or modify prototype products.
  • Develop and execute prototype test plans, document results, and troubleshoot failures to implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate the manufacturability of designs (DFM/DFA) and assist in the development of manufacturing processes and tooling.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to transition designs into production.
  • Maintain prototype equipment, support additive manufacturing and emerging fabrication technologies, and identify opportunities to improve prototype lead times.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field. (An Associate Degree combined with significant prototype, machining, and product development experience will also be considered).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, machining, prototype fabrication, or product development.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks CAD modeling, GD&T interpretation, CNC programming/machining, manual machining techniques, and additive manufacturing.
  • Preferred experience in industrial manufacturing, precision machining, metal fabrication, or fluid transfer products (valves, fittings, hoses, industrial equipment).
  • A collaborative, detail-oriented innovator with a strong mechanical aptitude. You should be a self-starter who excels at root cause analysis and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on development environment.

What We Offer:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family
  • Competitive salary
  • Bonus programs
  • 401K retirement plan
  • Training opportunities
