RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: No relocation assistance available CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: No CLEARANCE TYPE: None TRAVEL: Yes, 25% of the Time Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Engineer Supplier Quality – Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Dulles, VA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. Our Supplier Mission Assurance Engineers develop and implement supplier quality evaluation and control systems. They assure supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. They interface directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. They conduct product and process verification activities, monitor supplier quality performance, and drive root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues. The Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer collaborates with program management, engineering, subcontracts/procurement functional management, and supplier management teams to ensure that all procurements meet or exceed the requirements of external and internal customers. They define the Supplier Mission Assurance program within the scope of contract requirements and applicable Northrop Grumman policies and processes and coordinate and oversee Supplier Mission Assurance implementation over all program phases. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. In this job, you will: - Define and monitor mission assurance and supplier quality program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of supplier-supported programs. - Perform or assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability, and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. - Perform program supply base and supplier quality risk assessments and plan mitigation activities (e.g., flowdowns, readiness reviews, inspections, audits). - Coordinate and oversee Supplier Mission Assurance and Supplier Quality plan implementation over all program phases. - Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards and customer requirements. - Conduct product and process verification activities at suppliers and within internal operations. - Support and/or own non-conformance investigations related to supplied material, including driving root cause corrective action, supporting dispositioning, and verifying effectiveness. - Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics and dashboards; evaluate and report on procured material to support monthly supplier performance reviews. - Coordinate with engineering, quality engineering, and mission assurance to generate technical and quality requirements (specifications, drawings, statements of work, etc.) that are achievable by the supply base. - Assess program performance and risks and determine resources to ensure mission assurance across the supplier base. - Review and approve supplier quality documentation, including quality plans, end item data packets, test reports, and inspection reports. - Conduct training and workshops for suppliers on quality standards and best practices; support the team’s Continuous Improvement activities. - Train, mentor, and support junior-level personnel, sharing lessons learned from supplier quality and mission assurance activities. - Support Business Acquisition Process (proposal and business capture) activities by participating in supplier evaluation, qualification, and selection and assisting with quality and global supply chain plans. - Other duties as assigned If this job description reads like it was written specifically for you, consider joining our team! Basic Qualifications for Level 3: - Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience. - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance. - Familiarity with customer and internal requirements implementation and flow-down. - Interdepartmental collaboration and communication skills. - Experience leading or executing process improvement projects. - Experience developing and working to an AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS). - Strong technical writing skills. Preferred Qualifications: - An active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance. - Experience working in the aerospace industry. - Extensive experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis, investigation, and implementation. - Experience generating QMS command media and supplier-facing quality requirements. - Experience conducting, leading, and supporting supplier audits and assessments. - Team leadership experience and enthusiasm to mentor/train new hires. - Experience with supplier quality or mission assurance roles involving subcontractor/supplier oversight. Northrop Grumman Total Rewards Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
