Our Shipping Containers Conversions unit is seeking a driven and experienced Engineer to play a key role in advancing our product work. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that supports highly specialized engineering activities central to the mission of the Naval Nuclear Laboratory.
In this role, you will develop and maintain deep technical knowledge that enables you to provide strong engineering support for ongoing projects. You'll become a subject matter expert on the equipment, systems, and technical requirements involved in our conversion work, helping ensure projects move forward safely, efficiently, and with technical excellence.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in radiological practices, an understanding of equipment fabrication processes, and experience managing technical project work. Required Combination of Knowledge and SkillBachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently an Intermediate Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

Pay Range$78,700.00 - $120,500.00 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards, satellite, and vendor locations.
