The Engineering Manager I will lead the planning and execution of capital projects while managing a regional team supporting the Freeport, Odessa, and Sugar Land sites. This role will be responsible for managing complex projects and multi-year programs, developing project teams, managing project risks, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with established project work processes.

What You Will Do:

• Serve as a working group lead, managing projects while supervising a regional team of up to four contingent project engineers who are working on smaller capital projects for the Freeport, Odessa, and Sugar Land sites
• Lead an integrated project team for one high-complexity project up to $10 million USD
• Manage a portfolio of 3 to 6 medium- to high-complexity projects from study phase through construction with a total portfolio value up to $10 million USD
• Manage a multi-year program of greater than 3 years with a total TIC of up to $10 million USD
• Manage projects that are executed in phases over multiple years with a value of no more than $10 million USD
• Work with global and local engineering and construction firms to manage all aspects of front-end development, detailed design, procurement, scheduling, quality assurance, safety, cost control, and construction
• Build and lead an integrated team of contingent project engineers
• Train and coach junior engineers on SLB PCT project work processes and tools
• Partner with Procurement and Legal to establish labor and services contracts for capital projects
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies during all stages of project execution
• Develop schedules, cost estimates, and detailed execution plans for projects and multi-year programs up to $10 million USD
• Lead projects autonomously while effectively managing stakeholders and driving project outcomes

Position Details:

• Hybrid work schedule available with up to 2 remote days per week
• Supports capital projects across the Freeport, Odessa, and Sugar Land sites
• May require occasional travel to project locations and manufacturing facilities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• Seven years of experience managing projects up to $10 million USD in specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, or refining industries
• Commitment to following SLB PCT safety and health policies and the guiding principles of Goal Zero
• Commitment to following the SLB PCT Quality Improvement Process
• Commitment to following SLB PCT project work processes and procedures for the front-end development and execution of projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience managing and delivering automation and digital projects, including DCS and PLC projects
• Experience in Program Management
• Experience with Laboratory Projects
• Experience in Production, Operations, or Manufacturing
• Supervisory experience
• Experience working in SAP
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively in an international setting
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English
• Knowledge of constructability and construction safety practices and procedures
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and risk management capabilities
