Job Description

Job Summary:
The Systems Engineer II is responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support.
  • Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers moderately complex infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.
  • Leads documentation efforts for infrastructure configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with Estes standards.
  • Conducts performance tuning and capacity planning for multiple systems or services, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Performs advanced root cause analysis and drives resolution of recurring issues through systemic improvements.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to refine and standardize operational processes and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains automation scripts and tools to streamline operational workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Leads small to mid-sized infrastructure projects or workstreams, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Participates in disaster recovery planning and testing activities.
  • Participates in on-call rotation and may serve as escalation point for complex issues.
  • Demonstrate and champion the established "TRUCKS" cultural principles of transparency, responsiveness and resiliency, understanding, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and simplicity throughout the organization.
  • Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
  • 2 or more years of relevant IT systems experience required. 4 or more years prior experience preferred.
  • Must be able to handle moderately complex issues and problems, only referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Performs work under general supervision.
  • Must possess solid working knowledge of subject matter required.
  • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
  • Must be able to interact well with others
  • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
  • Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
