Job SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity for a System Development & Test (SD&T) Engineer supporting the MQ-1C Gray Eagle and Mojave STOL programs. Under general directions with regular review, this position is responsible for applying innovative approaches to resolving unusual or complex engineering problems in the lab, ground, and flight testing of new and emerging technologies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Perform Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities on Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) and Ground Control Element (GCE) programs. Under general supervision, work as part of a team in the completion of test and evaluation of both small and large-scale programs and determine and develop approaches to test and integrate new capabilities and functionality.
- Duties to include system level Qualification, Verification and Validation Testing of hardware and software with emphasis placed on deriving & tracking test requirements; supporting integration activities for new and emerging technologies and capabilities; generation of system level Test Plans and Procedures; conducting SIL, Ground, and Flight testing; and providing accurate and detailed reports of findings and results.
- Support test plan working groups, technical reviews, and safety reviews.
- Work side by side with systems/project/software engineering on all associated documentation.
- Will be required to act as test director for ground and flight tests, to include providing ground and flight crew direction/leadership during tests, ensure the safe and efficient execution of ground and flight tests, and represent GA-ASI to multiple customer entities during those tests.
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally during all phases of flight test programs to include test plans, ground and flight test procedures/cards, test observations, and issues and test reports.
- May be required to make technical presentations to project staff.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Job Qualifications- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; two or more years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or a recent graduate with a Master's degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Previous flight test engineer with a qualification to perform tests for a military organization including prior Department of Defense (DoD) Developmental Test (DT) or Operational Test (OT) experience is highly desired.
- Experience as a test conductor, test director, or test pilot/navigator for a Combined Test Force (CTF) or Integrated Test Force (ITF) is desired.
- Must understand engineering concepts, and principles; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
- Must have strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance is required.
- Up to 25% travel is required.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
