About the role:

Reporting to Senior Engineer Supervisor, Process, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within Elkview Operations processing facilities at EVR. This critical role provides key operation and design support for electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.

To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, who has strong learning agility, and analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, cross-functional team player who brings a collaborative approach to finding solutions. Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills, and the ability to work flexibly in a constantly evolving, dynamic environment are crucial to this role.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards
  • Collaborate with others to deliver value, contributing to the goals of the processing facility
  • Promote sharing of best electrical engineering practices across operations
  • Design, implement, and optimize electrical systems and components for processing facilities
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in pumps, motors, control panels, and instrumentation
  • Develop, update and maintain electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Develop and implement electrical/instrument-related MOCs (Management of Change)
  • Collaborate with process, mechanical engineering, and automation teams, leading/supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment reliability
  • Support capital projects and upgrades in terms of specification development, design review, criticality assessment, operation readiness, and facility commissioning


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial setting
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and VFDs
  • Experience in processing facilities, mining, or project management is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent


$106,000 - $131,000 a year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
